The 115 cadets, recruited since last spring among the sons of the aircraft plant's employees, range in age from 14 to 18 and meet weekly to take the regular RCAF training courses.

Following last night's squadron parade, one flight gave a demonstration of precision drill and the official party toured the squadron's training facilities.

Among those who praised the cadets were Ville-Saint-Laurent Mayor Maurice Cousineau and Dean Stowell, representing Geoffrey Notman, president and general manager of Canadair.

The squadron is commanded by F/O Eric Simms.

One cadet, Janusz Gutkind, only 14 and one of the youngest members of the squadron, drew special attention of the inspecting party who stopped to talk with the blond youngster.

The Canadair group is the first industrial sponsored squadron in the Montreal area.
