Air Cadets Receive Commendation

          At Provincial Committee Meeting

          To work with boys and show them how to accept their respon­sibilities as citizens is stimulating," Darroch MacGillivray, National President of the Air Cadet League of Canada said when he addressed the annual dinner of the league's Quebec Provincial Committee.

          "It is something that we can do for our country", he added. He appealed to the young cadets present to "establish lines of succession" so as to keep their squadron strong thus making their contribution to the growth of Canada. J. Gustave Le Droit was re-elected chairman of the provincial committee at the day-long meetings at which plans were made for the 1955 season.

AC2 Darling & LAC Hewitt

          OUR CADETS COMMENDED Cadets Brian Darling of 592 (Canadair Community) and Thomas Hewitt of 588 (Canadair) squa­drons who were at the din­ner came in for special commendation when Mr. Douglas Taylor, Hon. President of the Air Cadet League of Canada, speaking of the pride that commanding officers take in their cadets, requested the two boys to stand. Taylor then said, "Who wouldn't be proud to have such smart looking and well mannered boys in their squadrons, and what parent wouldn't be proud to have sons like you two boys. You are a credit to your squadrons, your instructors and to the Air Cadet League of Canada."

          More than twenty cadets were presented with wings by Air Commodore Clare Annis, R.C.A.F., acting Air Officer Commanding Air Defence Command.
