With Canadair's Air Cadets

Air Cadet Week in Canada, April 24th to 30th. officially got under-way in the Montreal area with a Church parade Sunday. April 24th. Cadets from 588 and 592 squadrons joined with 2,000 other cadets in the parade and march past. Air Vice Marshal Lawrence E. Wray, Air Officer Commanding Air Defence Command, took the salute from the reviewing base at the United Services Club on Sherbrooke Street.

During the week, officers and cadets of 588 entertained various other squadrons including 518 Rosemount, 576 Chateauguay and No. 1 Montreal West. Plant tours, volley-ball games and lectures on aircraft structures and engines all helped to entertain the visitors.

The first 592 Squadron Civilian Committee Night was held in plant 2 Monday night April 25th. The Committee inspected the Squadron and facilities and witnessed the march past. The salute was taken by F/L Larry Corbeil D.F.C.

Coming Events

MAY 5th — Judication of Basic Precision Drill for the Walsh Tro­phy (588 Squadron).

MAY 29th — Annual Inspection by Air Vice Marshal L. E. Wray (588 Squadron).

Summer Camp

Five officers and forty cadets from 592 Squadron are scheduled to attend Summer Camp at the RCAF Station, Clinton, Ont., from July 2nd to July 15th. Five officers and fifty cadets from 588 Squadron will attend from August 14th to August 27th. The cost of sending cadets to camp is borne by the RCAF. Along with basic training the cadets par­ticipate in athletics and rifle shoot­ing. During their stay at the base they are taken on flights in a Beechcraft.
